In honour of our new catalogue: Provenance II- Tracing the History of Objects, we will open up our gallery from Friday 2 February - Sunday 4 february 2024. You are all welcome to have a look inside our beautiful gallery and enjoy the collection preview for TEFAF Maastricht.

We are delighted to be participating in PAN Amsterdam, the pre-eminent autumn fair in The Netherlands for fine art and antiques. Read more about the fair, events and the objects that will be on display.

Autumn is now truly upon us and it's gradually getting darker and colder. After coming back from Hong Kong, we are now on our way to Munich Highlights. We also have some excited dairy dates and exhibition tips to share with you.

The Summer months are drawing to a close and Autumn is approaching with a full schedule for Vanderven Oriental Art! We have some wonderful art fairs coming up. Read our newsletter to find out more.

The gallery will be closed for the second half of July. In the meantime, should you miss the world of Chinese art, we have included some great reading suggestions and some interesting exhibitions we highly recommend.

We were so happy to be able to greet so many of you during TEFAF Maastricht last March. It was also such a joy to be able to do the whole event without restrictions. But there has been no time to sit still, as we are in full-swing of the preparations for our participation in the Printemps Asiatique in Paris. We are particularly delighted to be exhibiting in Red Lacquer Room of the iconic Red Pagoda.

We are so very pleased that TEFAF Maastricht will go ahead in its normal timeslot in March! We would love te welcome you at the MECC.

We are delighted to be participating at PAN Amsterdam again. It is still the pre-eminent fair in The Netherlands for fine art and antiques and well worth visiting. We are following-up on last year’s theme of Living with Chinese Art and once again collaborating with the brilliant RA Studios for the stand. Reineke Antvelink will be creating another sumptuous living space using beautiful Rubelli fabrics and her latest furnishing designs. Our collection of Chinese objects will obviously complete the whole concept.

As we leave the summer behind us we have some very exciting things coming up! Unfortunately we won't be able to travel to Hong Kong for this year's Fine Art Asia Fair. After a really wonderful gallery exhibition last month, lauching this year’s catalogue Sanjiao, we are pleased that finally various events can take place in the coming months. We will kick off in April with Art Affair Amsterdam (7-10 April). It runs simultaneously with the online fair The DAAF. TEFAF Maastricht will now finally take place 25-30 June (preview 24 June). 

We are thrilled to announce that the 35th anniversary edition of TEFAF Maastricht will take place Saturday, June 25 – Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the MECC in Maastricht.

New stricter covid-measures for The Netherlands were announced this evening (12 Nov). This has led to the following (additional) measures being put in place for the PAN Amsterdam fair: Opening hours have been modified: The fair will be open tomorrow 13 Nov (preview) 12-6pm. All other days 11am - 6pm. There will be no evening events.

For our upcoming gallery exhibition, we have chosen to focus on the element fire. Throughout the history of mankind, fire has been vital to the existence of humans, as well as being the key to progress. Man has been sustained and nurtured by fire – as it has always been used for cooking, warmth and of course the creation of ceramic vessels and works of art.

Due to the pandemic there will be a second TEFAF Online. Each TEFAF participant (New York & Maastricht) have been invited to present a single highlight which best represents their area of expertise. With over 255 of the world’s very best dealers it will form a curated platform showcasing important artworks spanning nearly 7,000 years of art history. What sets it apart is the fact that all objects featured in TEFAF Online have been meticulously vetted by experts in their respective fields. The platform will have several features which have been designed to reprise the sense of immediacy, serendipity, normally only experienced at physical fairs.

With ongoing COVID restrictions and another spring without live events, a group of Dutch antique dealers have joined forces to organise a short and snappy online presentation - The DAAF.

Considering the recent developments regarding the Covid regulations in the Netherlands it is with mixed feelings that we have decided to postpone Art Affair until further notice. We hope to welcome you soon and toast together to good health in the New Year.

We will discuss the history of Chinese Ceramics, illustrated by five representative objects from major periods in Chinese art history (Han, Tang, Ming, Kangxi & 19th century). We will also show other examples from the period and place them in their historical context.

A year ago, no one would could have guessed at the amount art events going online in all shapes and sizes. Searching for the right format, the experienced TEFAF-team have sought to translate an in-person fair visits to an interesting and exciting virtual setting. The in-person fair experience can never really be superseded, so they have not tried to mimic a physical fair.

We are really excited to be part of this unique limited time, interactive fine art experience – which will be totally different from existing platforms and viewing rooms. Art city enables you to navigate a birds eye view city and enter galleries and visit them at your leisure. It will feel as if you personally entering each location – 360 degree images enabling a customized visit, almost as if you are physically there. You can also make direct contact with each gallery allowing for instant inquiries and purchases.

Five long time TEFAF dealers are bringing together an eclectic mix of art covering more than 3000 years. This pop-up exhibition is a unique collaboration - a scaled down and safe event - juxtaposing the highest quality art from different fields. For four days you will have the opportunity to meet the international specialists in their fields and explore this fantastic cross-over art event! 

We are taking up residence in a beautiful canal house with five other dealers, and presenting our Chinese porcelain.

We are exhibiting in a pop-up gallery space in the Rue Paul–Louis Courier 7,  just off the Rue du Bac ( 7Th Arr.).

After the success of Outdoor Gallery part One, we are once again opening our doors in the weekend of 4- 6 September, with a special collaboration with Via Palazzino - About Interiors. Friday till Sunday open from 12 - 7 pm.

Our gallery has already been operational for several weeks, we now want to take it to the next level by adding an outdoor gallery space! We have started the transformation and hope you will come and enjoy the results. We will of course have all the necessary corona measures in place for your safety.

Vanderven Oriental Art is gespecialiseerd in Chinees porselein uit de 16e, 17e en 18e eeuw en terracotta objecten uit de Han- en Tang-dynastieën. Het familiebedrijf besteedt veel aandacht aan de herkomst van objecten en is vaste gast op TEFAF.

Our red room is transformed by Reineke Antvelink (RA Studio) into a warm and contemporary dining room.

In honor of our 50th anniversary we presented a newly refurbished space, transformed into a comfortable living area by interior designer Reineke Antvelink. In this room we demonstrate how Chinese art fits into a contemporary interior. An inspiring mix of old and new!

The 15th edition of FAA was the first in partnership with Masterpiece London. Again this year we exhibited ancient Chinese Bronzes, porcelain, works of art and lacquer. We were aware that the news coverage of the current situation in Hong Kong is causing concern worldwide however we had a wonderful time coming to the beautiful city of Hong Kong again this year!
