TEFAF Online Experience

A year ago, no one would could have guessed at the amount art events going online in all shapes and sizes. Searching for the right format, the experienced TEFAF-team have sought to translate an in-person fair visits to an interesting and exciting virtual setting. The in-person fair experience can never really be superseded, so they have not tried to mimic a physical fair.

Each TEFAF participant (New York & Maastricht) have been invited to present a single highlight which best represents their area of expertise. With over 280 of the world’s very best dealers it will form a curated platform showcasing important artworks spanning nearly 7,000 years of art history. What sets it apart is the fact that all objects featured in TEFAF Online have been meticulously vetted by experts in their respective fields. The platform will have several features which have been designed to reprise the sense of immediacy, serendipity, normally only experienced at physical fairs.

Features will include the online now icon you can see which dealers are online and can engage in conversations. Inquiries will go directly to each dealer as well.. A surprise me feature will allow for random suggestions of art works or dealers sparking moments of discovery and exploration similar to a real fair visit. Recently Viewed will include Art Objects organized by those most recently viewed by TEFAF Online visitors, and timestamped by when it was last viewed – giving all visitors a sense of the crowd, and a new experience every time they log in or refresh the page. There will also be a great line-up of live virtual panel discussions, gallery and museum tours to underline the event-based nature of the platform
