We will be exhibiting objects from our recent Famille Verte catalogue, including famille verte (and underglaze blue) objects from the van Hees and Nieuwenhuys Collections.
Famille Verte refers to an exceptional group of Chinese porcelains dating from c.1695-1725. These wares can be distinguished by the predominant use of newly developed green enamels in combination with other vibrant overglaze colours. This specific palette was produced for only a limited period, before the introduction of more new colours.
Nynke van der Ven will host a lecture and object-handling session focused on Famille Verte porcelain. She will explore its history, technical innovations, and the various categories within this group.
